Partnering to bring literacy resources to teachers in low-income communities

Orange, CA— February 14, 2020— Rise Up Foundation is thrilled to announce a $25,000 donation to DonorsChoose.org in support of literacy projects for teachers in grades 4-8 that provide new books for classrooms. The Rise Up Foundation is committed to helping teachers and classrooms obtain the materials they need to serve their students. Teachers raising funds for eligible classroom projects on Donors Choose will be matched with funds from the donation, helping them achieve their funding goals.

“I’m so excited to finally announce this new opportunity to provide teachers with the books they need in their classrooms,” says Rise Up Foundation founder and children’s book author Alane Adams. “DonorsChoose.org is a phenomenal organization dedicated to helping teachers obtain what they need, and I couldn’t be more excited to provide this match opportunity.” Adams founded Rise Up Foundation to support literacy projects as a path toward improving the future prospects of children in underserved communities by making book donations, providing classroom support, and grant-making.
