Beginning September 10, 2018 through October 10, 2018, Rise Up will be accepting grant requests for literacy related projects in the classroom. Because we like to do things different these grants will be a little less formal (i.e. less paperwork, more fun) than your typical grant.

Guidelines:

Grant Range: $500-$2,500 for a total of $50,000 in grants awarded. PLEASE INDICATE THE AMOUNT YOU ARE REQUESTING.

Grant Purpose:

Funds must be used to further, advance, enhance, motivate, inspire, or otherwise jump-start  literacy-related activities in the classroom. Not gonna lie, we like books, reading, and anything that gets kids excited about doing more of it.

Who Can Apply?

Public Elementary and Middle School Teachers (K-8)  in the USofA.

What Do You Need To Do? (Updated for Clarity 9/19/18)

Create a Facebook post with a picture of your classroom, or your students, or you in your classroom, or you standing on your head in your classroom (just kidding) and tell us what you need and why you need it. Tag us @Rise.Up.Foundation and @AlaneAdamsBooks and make sure we can see it by adjusting the settings to PUBLIC only for that post. IF YOUR POST IS NOT PUBLIC WE CANNOT SEE IT. Unfortunately, sharing a screen shot of your request doesn’t help us find you. Share a link or leave us comments in our pinned Grant Post (nice ones please!) It will help us get to know you if you’re following us. Be creative! Get our attention. Explain what you need and why you need it. It’s not complicated. We get life is complicated. Helping teachers shouldn’t  be. Share it with your friends. Tell them to agree you deserve it. Who knows, we might just pick it, fund it, and stand back and admire what you’ve done.

Timeline:

All grants will be reviewed and approved by October 31, 2018. Prior to funding approved requests, additional information will be required for verification purposes.

Questions? Post it to our pinned Facebook post and we’ll sort it out.
